From December 10 to 12, 2025, an international course in Santarém, Portugal, will offer young researchers and students in veterinary, pharmaceutical and animal sciences the opportunity to deepen their understanding of European legal frameworks for herbal veterinary medicinal products.

Participants will explore the historical context, current EU regulations, and selected national legal systems. A comparison with human herbal medicine regulation will provide additional perspective. Interactive group work on real-life case studies—prepared in advance by each participant—will allow application of theoretical knowledge and foster lively discussion. The course will close with a forward-looking plenary on future challenges and opportunities.

Participation is free of charge, registration is required. Applicants must submit a case idea based on an interview with a veterinarian, farmer, pet owner or producer. Guidance on preparing the case will be provided in a virtual pre-course workshop.
