The Virtual Mobility (VM) focused on researching and systematizing historical ethnoveterinary knowledge from textbooks and literature published in the former Yugoslavia. A key source analyzed was the 1946 textbook RECEPTURA za veterinarsku praksu, which contains 381 veterinary recipes. Of these, 117 plant-based recipes were identified and extracted, resulting in a structured Excel dataset of 214 entries covering 59 plant species used in therapies for livestock, poultry, dogs, and cats.
The dataset was prepared following the methodology of WG3, Subgroup 1, and includes information on indications, animal species, pharmacological effects, plant parts, preparations, local names, and bibliographic references. This compilation not only preserves historical ethnoveterinary knowledge but also provides a basis for comparative studies within the Action.
The results were presented on September 24, 2025, to an academic audience, accompanied by a discussion on the importance of integrating regional historical sources into modern veterinary phytotherapy research. Planned follow-up activities include expanding the dataset with additional historical sources, preparing a scientific publication, and organizing a student workshop to disseminate the findings.
